BOARDING FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Why is it important my dog does a “demeanor trial day” first?
A. We understand that every dog is unique and that every dog has the right and need to be social whether that be with other dogs or just humans! Before your dog joins the Paws@Play family, we feel that it is important for us to get to know your dog as an individual so we can better cater to their needs.
During their “demeanor trial day,” we evaluate their individual personality to better match them with similar dogs during playtime. We also get them acquainted with our facility, so they are familiar with our staff and schedule the next time they come to stay or play Remember, the “demeanor trail day” is free of charge!

Demeanor trial days are not required for boarding, however, they will not be allowed to participate in group play with others if not.

Q. What do I need to make a boarding reservation?
A. If you are a new customer, we ask that you first:
-
Visit the “New Clients” page.
-
Verify the items in #1 of the list on that page.
-
Give us a call so that we can get to know your dog and get them familiar with us.
If you are a returning daycare customer and are just new to boarding:
-
Make sure that we have copies of updated vaccination papers.
-
Bring your dog’s own food. We do provide our own food for an extra charge; however, a sudden change in diet can upset your dog’s digestion.
-
We provide our own clean bowls and kuranda cots. Feel free to bring your own bedding if you would like as well.
Q. Can I bring my dog’s bed, treats and toys?
A. Yes, you are welcome to bring your own beds, blankets or other bedding items as it will provide additional comfort, but please know that sometimes they can chew their own bedding and we are not responsible.
We also encourage you to bring your dog treats, as long as they are easily chewed and swallowed. We do not allow bones or rawhides of any kind because they can be a choking hazard.
Q. Should I bring my own dog food?
A. Yes, we strongly encourage you to bring your own food from home. A sudden change in your dogs’ diet can cause stomach upset creating great discomfort for your dog. We do provide our own high-quality food for an additional charge.
Q. Do you administer medications?
A. Yes, as long as it is not an injectable medication. We do this at no additional charge. All that we ask is that you let us know at check in what they are currently taking and their schedule.
Q. What if my dog gets sick or becomes injured during their visit?
A. Our staff is trained on basic dog behavior as well as certified in pet CPR/First aid and monitor your dog closely to ensure that they are always healthy and happy. Any injury or illness, no matter how minor, will be reported to you as soon as possible. If it is an emergency, we will always try to contact you first, however if we cannot reach you, we will do what we feel best for the dog.
Q. Do you have 24-hour care?
A. No, we do not have anyone at the facility overnight. All dogs are tucked in and locked in their suites for the night at 9:00pm. We are fully secured with burglar and fire alarm system as well as surveillance cameras.
